Former world boxing champion Micky Ward will be making an appearance Saturday at Tutto Bene Wine & Cheese Cellar in Lowell to sign a limited number of bottles of the 2009 Uppercut Cabernet Sauvignon.
Ward, whose story was captured in the movie The Fighter, will be on hand from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., according to proprietor Dick Rourke.
Produced by Provenance Vineyards in Napa Valley, Uppercut Cabernet has received high marks for its rich, fruit forward taste and balanced tannins. It sells for $29.95 a bottle. A 15 percent discount is offered to those purchasing a case of wine, said Rourke.
Ten dollars from each sale will be donated to Team Micky Charities, which funds activities for underprivileged children in the Lowell area.
Tutto Bene is located at the rear of 59 Prescott St.
