Let’s me just say that Mike Kuenzler and his wife Cindy are two of the most positive people you’ll ever meet.
They have a way of turning dark clouds into sunshine.
Ten years ago, in 2013, the Kuenzler’s took a shot at reviving a failed restaurant and golf course project in Dracut at Meadow Creek. Weeds were growing on the 18-hole championship course and the restaurant and function rooms were doing less business than a food truck on Lakeview Avenue.
But Mike and Cindy were looking for a challenge.
A formerĀ Lowell Police Department officer, Mike had a vision of a nice gathering spot for friends, family and newcomers. And Cindy had an eye for sparking things up, especially with the gorgeous views offered by the golf club’s elevated foundation.
Today, Four Oaks Country Club and Grazie Italian Restaurant is a masterpiece of hardwork, innovation and dedication.
It’s a must-go place to go for lunch and dinner. And I believe its outdoor patio dining – with its beautiful sunset views – to be the best experience in all of Greater Lowell, especially on $1.99 oyster night which is held each Tuesday!
My recent Grapefully Yours Wine Show podcast featured a conversation with Mike Kuenzler, who I described as an entrepreneur, restaurateur, businessman, and fundraiser for a host of local charities.
Click the link below to watch the 30-minute segment, in which Mike talks about his decision to purchase the sprawling, bankrupt Meadow Creek facilities and launch a food and wine revival with Grazie. He also talks about his budding relationship with Washington State winery owner Drew Bledsoe, the New England Patriots Hall of Fame quarterback who has built up a solid reputation in retirement as a top-notch vintner and farmer.

The Kuenzler’s extensive wine list at Grazie includes two Bledsoe wines, the premium, award-winning Doubleback Cabernet Sauvignon and 1-liter Bledsoe Family Wine Red Blend.
So, it’s worth a trip to Dracut to experience Four Oaks and visit with the Kuenzlers and their appreciative staff.
